About the event
The ultimate steam-bending course. We cover all the basics and then delve into advanced sculptural techniques really pushing the envelope of what a piece of wood can do and be.
In its 15th year this course now runs over 4 days - the Friday is a 1 day Beginners Course which some participants may have already done so do not need to repeat unless wanted, but is included so come along as refresher if wanted - up to you!
Charlie's done a lot of new work since last running this course - and as ever all new lessons learned in his studio work is shared here as much as possible. There will also an optional visit a local samill to cut some perfect Ash to take home if wanted.

Student/Intern Ticket
We'll be inviting 5 x helpers for the 2026 Course. You'll get to experience the whole course and be part of everything, but you won't be taking a seat or lampshade home with you and you'll help run the course. Your help will include welcoming people and making them feel at home, filming/photography, keeping the steamers topped up, laying the table and help serving food, clearing after etc... If you enjoy looking after people and love materials, design and creativity this could for you.
